The Board
The day after Memorial Day is not glamorous. It is a clipboard with coffee on it. Today's public pass found one real civic item, one East Bank non-meeting that still matters, one development pointer that needs the underlying record, and a Tuesday-night calendar trying very hard not to act like a Tuesday.
The public-source stack: Metro Council's Budget and Finance work session, Metro's FY27 budget guide, MNPS budget context, the East Bank Development Authority cancellation notice, Metro's East Bank page, a Groundbreak TPAC development listing, Nashville Scene's earlier TPAC planning context, and direct/public event listings for Basement East, Eastside Bowl, Skinny Dennis, and M.L. Rose East Nashville.
Budget Watch
Metro Council lists Budget and Finance Work Session 1 for Tuesday, May 26 at 4:30 p.m. in the Historic Metro Courthouse, with the public able to watch live through Metro Nashville Network streams.
Metro's FY27 budget guide puts the operating budget at $3.848 billion. The biggest spending categories are education at 37.38 percent, public safety and justice at 22.16 percent, debt service at 11.47 percent, and infrastructure and transportation at 5.53 percent. Translation: the neighborhood complaints are about to become line items, or they are about to remain very expressive emails.

East Bank Homework
The East Bank Development Authority's regular 9 a.m. meeting for today was cancelled. That is the official part.
The not-done part: Metro's East Bank page says the authority is receiving and digesting public feedback on East Bank Boulevard while The Fallon Company works toward getting the first Metro-owned-land buildings shovel-ready. Groundbreak also lists TPAC's 20 Victory Ave East Bank facility as approved, with a reported 370,000 square feet, 105-foot height, and 2030 completion target. Treat that as a development pointer until the underlying planning record is attached.
Tuesday Night, Somehow
The calendar has options: Vana's Lady In Red Tour at The Basement East at 7 p.m.; Honky Tonk Tuesday with The Cowpokes and Todd Day Wait at Eastside Bowl, doors 6:30 and show 7; Coors & Cowboys at Skinny Dennis running 2 p.m. to 2 a.m.; and Nashville Nerd Herd trivia at M.L. Rose East Nashville from 7:15 to 9:15 p.m.
The useful read: Basement East is the all-ages show, Eastside Bowl is the Gallatin music pick, Skinny Dennis is the all-day bar chaos lane, and M.L. Rose is for anyone whose Tuesday self still believes the brain can work after a holiday weekend.
Social Capture Status
Facebook and Nextdoor are held today because this run did not include supervised screenshots or visible private-platform post notes.
That is the rule working as designed: no private-platform claims get promoted without receipts, redactions where needed, and a clear label. The group text may have a press pass, but it still has to show ID.
