Start With The Ride

The weekend starts with a choice: move your body responsibly, go hear songs that know too much, or learn about fungi like a person who has accepted spring.

Bike to Work Day is today at Riverfront Station from 6:30 to 9 a.m., according to Nashville.gov. Nashville Connector, NDOT, and Bike Fun are hosting breakfast, coffee, bike safety checks, and registration-required Bike to Work (Anywhere) Day energy.

The East Side Angle

Yes, the event is downtown. East Nashville still gets the practical angle because every bridge ride is a small civic experiment.

If you bike from the east side into the core, you already know the route is part transportation, part confidence exercise, part prayer for everyone to behave at the turn lane.

This is the East Nashville range: bridge ride, black-room songs, tai chi, and fungi.

Friday Night On Woodland

Tonight, The Basement East lists Noah Gundersen at 8:30 p.m. on AXS.

The useful part is simple: it is at 917 Woodland, it is tonight, and it is the kind of show where nobody needs a giant explainer. You either want a Friday night with feelings or you do not.

Saturday At Shelby Bottoms

Saturday is Shelby Bottoms' turn. The nature center page lists Tai Chi Workshop from 10 to 11 a.m. and Junior Naturalist: Fun with Fungi from 2 to 3:30 p.m.

The May combined Metro Parks schedule also lists the fungi program for ages 6 to 15. Registration rules can change, so check with Shelby Bottoms before promising a child mushrooms and civic enrichment.
